Technology Center of Turkmenistan opened in Ashgabat.

The Technology Center in Turkmenistan's capital city Ashgabat, a research, development and innovation base, was inaugurated on June 12, 2014. The center was built by Polimeks, one of the largest global contracting companies of Turkey, with a 32,425 square meters indoor area on a total land of 71,250 square meters. The complex contains a technology center, a modelling facility, and technical units.

The Technology Center was brought into being by the Government of Turkmenistan and the  construction began in 2012. The center has 8 different R&D departments and laboratories that are specialized in herbal medication production, food technologies, biotechnologies, environmental protection technologies, technologies for the synthesis of new materials, energy generation and energy efficiency systems, geographic information systems, and nanotechnology on a total land of 11,400 square meters.

The 7-storey Technology Center also contains a modelling studio, conference halls, a convention and exhibition center, a scientific library, a modern publishing house, a training center, a glass-blowing studio, and a museum.

Erol Tabanca, Chairman of Polimeks, talked about the Technology Center of Turkmenistan: “We are proud and happy to be present at the opening ceremony of this new center that Polimeks built as a result of the swift and strong development policies that are implemented in accordance with the prescient vision of the Honorable President of Turkmenistan, Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. Every project that we bring into being in Turkmenistan has been a source of pride for us as Polimeks. We put our signature under more than 120 projects in Turkmenistan, from significant monuments to public buildings, from administrative buildings to the yacht marina. Among these exist projects that received the first prize in international competitions as well as monuments that is printed on Manat bills, the currency of Turkmenistan.”
